The system makes it possible to use batch applications that can run continuously even when their windows are closed. The Planning framework contains a batch application called Control planning.
With the help of this application, it is possible to execute the [Update planning data and execute planning] action from the Material requirements planning application through a batch job. Owing to that, planning can be executed automatically and controlled over time.
The Control planning application consists of two tabs:
- Application – the batch job settings can be specified on this tab.
- Background settings – the batch job processing settings can be specified on this tab.
The Application tab contains the following fields:
- Batch application – name of the batch application
- Development object – technical name of the batch application’s development object
- Field available on the Action subtab:
- Action – you can define a processing job in this field; selectable options are:
- Transfer and plan – use this action to create again and execute planning. Any existing planning data will be deleted.
- Update and plan – use this action to accept all changes in the planning data and update the planning.

- What’s this help subtab – provides the application description.

You can view all batch jobs initiated in batch applications in the Batch jobs application or after selecting the icon in the bottom right corner of the system window, informing the user about a job’s progress.
In order to check the current batch jobs associated with the user, it is necessary to specify the user identification in the User field and confirm it by selecting [Enter].
