Comarch Retail POS configuration of optional dimensions

Application Comarch Retail POS configuration of optional dimensions allows for complementing data provided from POS with elements related to controlling which are used for conducing analysis of business results of the company in accordance with user’s needs.

Identification pane

The identification pane is composed fields enabling searching by specific criteria:

  • Sales channel – sales channel created in Sales channels application, with selected Comarch POS adapter
  • Terminal – POS workstation to which the configuration is being executed

During the configuration of optional dimensions, it is necessary to pay attention to the consistency between the sales channel and the terminal.
  • Optional dimension – controlling dimension defined in accordance with user’s needs, used for conducing analyses (e.g., cost center, sales channel). Optional dimensions must be configured in applications Optional dimensions and Dimension type.

For fields Sales channel and Terminal, button [Value assistant] is available, which opens a window in which it is possible to search an appropriate sales channel or terminal.

Defining new dimension in the application Comarch Retail POS configuration of optional dimensions

In order to execute the configuration of optional dimensions, it is necessary to click on [New] or [Duplicate] button on the standard button bar.

Adding new optional dimension

After selecting the button [New], in the table appears new row in which it is possible to determine specific values for columns:

  • Sales channel – here, it is necessary to select Sales channel, mandatory field
  • Terminal – here, it is necessary to select POS terminal associated with the selected sales channel.
  • Optional dimension – here, it is necessary to select Optional dimension, mandatory field
  • Value – here, it is necessary to enter a numeric value determining the value of the optional dimension (e.g., cost center code, sales channel code). Mandatory field, maximum length of the value is 10 characters.
  • Use for trade documents – parameter indicates whether an optional dimension has to be assigned to trade documents. The assigned value of an optional dimension can be verified after opening a document in application Posting financial accounting, in tab Controlling.
  • Use for withdrawals and deposits – parameter indicates whether an optional dimension has to be assigned to cash transactions issued manually on the POS workstation. The assigned value of an optional dimension can be verified after opening a document in application Posting financial accounting, in tab Controlling.

Another possibility of configuring optional dimensions consists of using the [Duplicate] button for duplicating a currently marked row in order to modify it. The duplication allows for reducing the number of fields supposed to be filled-in manually, however it does not allow for saving two identical dimensions with the same value.

After entering required data, it is necessary to save it with the help of the [Save] button placed on the standard button bar.
