Procedures: Item templates

This article contains instructions regarding application Item templates which can be used, for example, in order to add or edit item template.

Add new template

Instructions

  1. Open application Item templates, in Base view
  2. Click on [New] button on the standard toolbar. Dialogue box Create new item template is opened.
  3. In the dialogue box, select item of Material type and material type Inventory item.
  4. Click on [OK] button to confirm.
  5. In Item template field, in the header, enter ID number.
  6. Select the template description in the field with the same name.
  7. If needed, enter classification in the field with the same name, further data or assign new utilizations.
  8. Click on [Save] button on the standard toolbar.
Note
It is not possible to add item templates for different item variants. An associated reference item is a template for a variant.

Delete template

An item template can be deleted entirely or marked for deletion.

Insert deletion mark in item template

  1. Open application Item templates, in Base view.
  2. Open item template for which you want to insert deletion mark.
  3. Click on [Delete] in the standard toolbar.

Deletion mark is added to the item template.

The change is saved.

Delete item template

Precondition

An item template can be deleted only if the user has administration privileges.

Instructions

  1. Open application Item templates, in Base view.
  2. Open item template which has to be deleted.
  3. Click on [Delete] button on the standard toolbar.

A dialogue box with warning will open. After confirming it, the item template will be deleted.

Delete item template deletion mark

  1. Open application Item templates, in Base view.
  2. Open item template for which deletion mark is supposed to be deleted.
  3. Click on [Unmark for deletion] in the standard toolbar.

The deletion marker for item template is deleted.

The change is saved.

Add new item utilization

  1. Open application Item templates, in Base view.
  2. Open item template to which new utilization is supposed to be assigned
  3. On the standard toolbar, select utilization view which is supposed to be assigned.
    Note
    If a given view is not available for selection, it means that it cannot be opened in selected organization or its utilization is not assigned at all. First assignment can be performed from the level of the active OLTP client only.
  4. It is possible to change data, if needed.
  5. Click on [Save] button on the standard toolbar.

Change organization

  1. In navigation panel, open tab Organizational structure. Here, all organizations to which the user has permissions, are displayed.
  2. Double click on the organization which is supposed to be opened.

The system displays its data.

Note
If before selecting the organization, a view different than Base is selected, the system will open it, if selected organization has not used it yet.

Take over data for selected organization

Precondition

This functionality is present in multicompany environment or if Content-based authorizations are active in single company environment.

Instructions

  1. Open the Item templates application and switch to selected utilization window.
  2. Open item template which has to be taken over.
  3. Select organization for which the utilization has to be taken over.
  4. Click on [Accept data for selected organization] button on the standard toolbar.
  5. Click on [Save] button on the standard toolbar.

Utilization data will be taken over for the selected organization.
