Control plan assignments

Application description

The Control Plan assignments application is used to assign inspection plans to articles or article classifications. As a result, when you create an inspection order, the corresponding inspection plan will be assigned to an article automatically, without having to select it.

Assignment of control plans can be made for an article or for a classification. The Item and Classification fields are mutually exclusive. At least one of these fields must be filled in. If all fields are filled in, the assignment should be done in the following order:

  1. Item
  2. Classification (of the control plan)
  3. Site

If the Versioning of control plans master data function is activated in the Customizing application, it is possible to select the version of the assigned control plan. Activating versioning of master data affects the effective dates of control plan assignment:

  • For a control plan without versioning enabled:
    • If the user assigns a control plan without specifying from when it is valid – the control plan is valid indefinitely.
    • If the user assigns a control plan with a date from which it is valid – the control plan is valid from the specified date without an end date.
  • For a control plan with versioning enabled:
    • If the user assigns a control plan without specifying from when it is valid – the control plan is valid from the date specified during versioning.
    • If the user assigns a control plan with a date from which it is valid – the control plan is valid from the specified date without an end date.

The Control plan assignments application consists of a header and a workspace with an item table and an item editor.

Query pane

The header of the Control plan assignments application allows you to filter and search for existing control plan assignments.

Application header Assignment of control plans.

The header contains the following action buttons:

[New] – inactive button. Adding a new assignment is possible from the workspace, which is described later in the document.

[Save] – verifies the entered parameters for the correctness of the data (just like the [Verify] button) and, if the verification is successful, saves the changes to the application. If the data is incorrect, the fields are marked with red flags and the assignment is not saved.

[Delete] – allows you to delete the control plan assignment.

Note
Deletion tags in the Control plan assignments application do not apply. Deletion of data occurs when the [Delete] action is invoked.

[Verify] – allows you to check the correctness of the entered data and determines whether all mandatory fields have been completed. If is missing data or the entered data is incorrect, the individual fields are marked with a red triangle in the upper right corner.

[Update] – restores the application to the previously saved version

The header contains the following search fields:

Article – in this field you can enter the name of the article whose assignments are to be searched. A detailed search function is available, as well as multiple item selection by pressing the [Value Completion Help] button.

Classification – in this field you can specify the classification of the control plan that was previously created in the Classifications application. A detailed search function is available, as well as multiple item selection by pressing the [Value Completion Help] button.

Location – identifier of the control plan organization whose assignments are to be searched. A detailed search function is available, as well as multiple item selection by pressing the [Value Completion Help] button.

Supplier – the field allows you to indicate the partner with the Supplier role for which there are control plan assignments. The list of partners with the Supplier role is located under the [Value completion help] button.

Supplier quality classification – in this field you can specify the supplier quality classification that was previously created in the Classifications application. The list of existing supplier quality classifications is located under the [Value Completion Help] button.

Mandatory inspection – a field indicating the mandatory nature of the quality inspection. If the inspection is mandatory, it will be necessary to generate an inspection order for the material at the time of delivery. The field contains a drop-down list of options to choose from:

  • Always – quality control is always required
  • Never – quality control is never required
  • Optional – quality control is suggested but can be omitted
  • Optional with a warning – quality control is suggested but can be skipped. If quality control is skipped, the user will receive a warning about it.

Control plan – in this field you can enter the identification of the control plan whose assignments are to be searched. The field consists of three parts, which, when combined, constitute the full name of the control plan:

  • Type – the field contains the type of control plan, which can be defined in the Control Plan Types application.
  • Code – the field contains the name of the control plan. It can consist of up to 25 characters (numbers, letters or a combination of numbers and letters).
  • Version – the field contains the version number of the document. It is assigned automatically for each successive version of the document. Individual versions differ in their validity periods. A non-editable field.

The table displays existing control plan assignments. Each existing control plan assignment corresponds to one row of the table.

The table contains the following buttons and fields:

[Sort] – opens the Define Sorting window, where you can determine how the results displayed in the table should be sorted.

[Edit item] – displays the details of the line in the item editor.

[Export to data file] – exports data from the table to a file. The file is exported in XLS format.

Work pane – line item editor

The item editor contains the details of the items in the table. It allows you to view the table data and edit it. It also allows you to manually enter new control plan assignments.

The item editor contains the following action buttons:

[Create New Item] – opens a clean item editor, allowing you to enter a new document item.

[Duplicate] – allows you to duplicate the currently selected document item with the data and settings specified for it into the item editor

[Verify on application] – allows you to enable or disable verification of the edited item. Enabling the button results in displaying errors and warnings about the item when transferring it to the table using the [Apply Entries] button, and blocks the transfer until the warnings are accepted and the errors are corrected. Disabling the function also unlocks the possibility of transferring items containing errors or with incomplete mandatory fields to the item list. If the function is disabled, the item data is checked when saving or verifying the entire document.

[Verify] – checks the correctness of the entered data. Fields with incorrect data/uncompleted mandatory fields are marked with a red marker in the corner of the field.

[Apply entries] – moves the edited item to the item table and ends its editing

Article – in this field define the name of the article to be assigned. Once saved, the field is uneditable.

[Alert] Assignment of control plans can be made for an article or for a classification. The Article and Classification fields are mutually exclusive. At least one of these fields must be filled in. If all fields are filled in, the assignment should take place in the following order:

  1. Item
  2. Classification (of the control plan)

If the inspection is mandatory, an inspection order will have to be generated for the item at the time of delivery.

Effective from – the date from which the control plan is valid. The date cannot be retroactive.

Note
It is possible to assign several control plans with the same effective dates to one article, provided that each control plan is of a different type. The same types of control plans can be assigned, provided they have different effective times. In that case, the previous control plan will be effective until the day before the next control plan starts (the date in the Effective From field).
