Topic overview

This document describes the Customers view in Items application, which can be used, e.g., for entering sales data for a specific customer.

Note
With the use of the Items application it is possible to edit item data in reference to a client. In the Customers view, the buttons on the standard toolbar are related to the data of the item connected to the customer.

Add item data in reference to a customer

Preconditions

Data can only be entered for the Customers view if the item already has sales data. In a multi-site environment, the item must have sales data for the selected organization.

If a variant item is involved, the related reference item must already have the item data for the desired customer. The organizations must be the same in a MultiSite environment.

In a multi-site or single-site environment with activated content-based authorizations, the selected organization must be a sales organization.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to enter customer-related item data.
  3. Switch to Customers view.
  4. Click on [New] button on the standard toolbar.
  5. In the Customer field, enter the customer for which you want to enter item data.
  6. 6. If required, fill out the other fields with the desired sales data.
  7. Click on [Save] button on the standard toolbar.

Delete customer-related item data

Customer-related item data is not deleted directly and must first be marked for deletion. Only those versions of customer-related item data that have their entire validity period in the future can be deleted directly, since they have not been used yet.

Mark customer-related item data for deletion

Preconditions

The customer-related item data has not been marked for deletion yet.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to mark customer-related item data for deletion.
  3. Switch to Customers view.
  4. Open the customer for which the item data need to be marked for deletion.
  5. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing the item.
  6. Click on [Mark for deletion] in the standard toolbar.

The customer-related item data is marked for deletion and saved.

Note
The customer-related item data contains a mark for deletion in all versions. In a multi-site environment as well, the data other than the selected organization are not included.

Unmark customer-related item data for deletion

Preconditions

The customer-related item data has been marked for deletion.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to unmark customer-related item data for deletion.
  3. Switch to Customers view.
  4. Open the customer for which the item data need to be marked for deletion.
  5. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing the item.
  6. Click on [Unmark for deletion] in the standard toolbar.

Deletion flag will be removed from the customer item.

Note
In a multi-site environment: Even if the selected organization is an (active OLTP) client, the mark for deletion is removed only for the selected organization.

Delete customer-related item data version

Preconditions

A customer-related item data version, that will be valid only in the future, exists.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to remove a future version of the customer-related item data.
  3. Switch to Customers view.
  4. Open the item for which you want to remove a future version of the customer-related item data.
  5. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing data.
  6. Using the [Next] and [Back] buttons browse in the Valid from field and switch to a future version of the planning data to be deleted.
  7. Click on [Delete] button on the standard toolbar.

This selected version of the item data is deleted.

Note
By deleting a future version, the validity period of the previous version is correspondingly extended.

Create a new version customer-related item data

Preconditions

Open the item for which you want to enter customer-related item data.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to enter a future version of the customer-related item data.
  3. Switch to Customers view.
  4. Open the customer for which you want to enter a future version of the customer-related item data.
  5. Click on [New version] button on the standard toolbar.

A new version of the customer-related item data will be generated.

  1. Enter a future date from which the customer-related item data will be valid in the Valid from field.
  2. Click the Save button in the standard toolbar.

This selected version of the item data is deleted.

Duplicate customer-related item data

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to duplicate customer-related item data.
  3. Switch to Customers view.
  4. Open the customer whose customer-related item data you want to duplicate.
  5. Click on [New] button on the standard toolbar.

The system generates a new record.

  1. Specify the desired customer.
  2. Save the new customer-related item data.
