Topic overview

This article describes the procedures for working with the Partner reference types application. The procedures contain instructional steps for creating or editing a user-defined partner reference type, for instance. Furthermore, this document will inform you about the expected preconditions and effects.

Editing is not possible in the Internal view. Both existing internal partner reference types can be displayed there.

Creating new user-defined partner reference types

1. Open the Partner reference types application.
2. Select User-defined view in the standard toolbar.
3. Click on [New] in the standard toolbar.
   The system generates a new, empty partner reference type.
4. Create a unique identification in Type for your new partner reference type.
5. Enter a description.
6. Enter the desired partner role and cardinality.
7. Save the new partner reference type.

Duplicating user-defined partner reference type

1. Open the Partner reference types.
2. Select User-defined view in the standard.
3. Open the partner reference type to be.
   The system displays the existing partner reference.
4. Now click on [Duplicate] in the standard toolbar under the [New].
   The system generates a new partner reference type. The data of existing partner reference type are accepted until the identification under Type.
5. Create a unique identification in Type for your new partner reference.
6. Change the data in the user-defined fields, if.
7. Save the new partner reference.

Searching for and displaying partner reference type

In both views, Internal and User-defined, you can search for and display existing internal and user-defined partner reference types. No more editing is possible for internal partner reference types.

Instructions

1. Open the Partner reference types.
2. Select the view for the desired type of partner reference type: Internal and User-defined.
3. Specify the identification of the partner reference type in the Type.
4. Click on [Update].
5. The system displays the existing internal or user-defined partner reference.

Editing user-defined partner reference type

Even if the partner reference type is being used, the description can be edited and changed. If the partner reference type is not being used, the data in all fields until the Type identification can be changed.

Instructions

1. Open the Partner reference types.
2. Select User-defined view in the standard.
3. Open the partner reference type to be.
   The system displays the existing partner reference.
4. Change the desired.
5. Save the changed partner reference.

Marking partner reference type for deletion

You require administrative authorizations for business entity deletion. If you do not have them, you can place a mark for deletion. Objects marked for deletion will be finally deleted during reorganization, if they are not used any more.

Objects with a deletion marker cannot be assigned in opportunities. You can continue to use assignments which already exist at the time point of marking the object for deletion.

Preconditions

You can only mark an object for deletion if it is not being used in the master or configuration data.

Instructions

1. Open the Partner reference types.
2. Select User-defined view in the standard.
3. Open the partner reference type that you want to mark for.
   Note

   The mark for deletion is saved automatically.

4. Click on [Mark for deletion] in the standard.
5. The identification has been extended by the mark for.

Unmarking a user-defined partner reference type for deletion

1. Open the Partner reference types.
2. Select User-defined view in the standard.
3. Open the partner reference type whose deletion marker you want to.

4. Click on [Delete] in the standard.
   The deletion marker was.

Deleting user-defined partner reference type

Preconditions

Partner reference types can only be deleted if they are not being used in opportunities.

Instructions

1. Open the Partner reference types.
2. Select User-defined view in the standard.
3. Open the partner reference type to be.
   The system displays the existing partner reference.
4. Click [Delete].
   The system deletes the partner reference.
