Cockpit: Campaigns

Topic overview

This document describes the structure of the Cockpit: Campaigns application. Said application is primarily used for querying opportunities as to their header information such as status and begin date. It provides you with an overview of the campaigns created and lets you display their voucher references chains.

Definitions of terms

Campaigns – Campaigns are limited promotions targeted at existing or potential customers through different media. They serve to obtain specific information on existing and potential customers. Sales campaigns serve to directly target customers and increase the sales of products and services. With the help of information campaigns, information is transmitted to or procured from partners.

Application description

The application Cockpit: Campaigns provides an overview of the processing status of campaigns. You can search for individual campaigns and have their voucher references chains displayed. The campaign data can be exported in different formats, e.g. Microsoft Excel or PDF.

Query pane

The query pane serves to store query fields. The most important query fields are usually already provided there. However, the number of query fields and their placement may vary.

The query pane is the same for all views of the work pane. You can determine which query fields are to be displayed.

All important query fields are listed below. If further fields are added, you will find their full description in the What’s this help function:

  • Campaign type – Enter an identification of a sales campaign type as search criterion for a campaign. Along with the campaign number, the sales campaign type identifies the campaign.
  • Number – Enter an identification as search criterion for a campaign. Along with the sales campaign type, the campaign number identifies the campaign.
  • Description – Enter a description as a search criterion. The description serves as an additional distinguishing characteristic and consists of user-defined text. The same description can exist more than once. The system displays all entries corresponding with the entered description.
  • Status – If required, select the status of the campaign as search criterion. You can select one or more (or all) of the following statuses as search criteria:
    • All
    • Released
    • Blocked
    • Completed
    • Created
    • Addressee verification required
    • Reorganization started
  • Sales stage – If required, enter a sales stage as search criterion.
  • Begin date – If required, enter a date or a time period as search criterion.
  • End date – If required, enter a date or a time period as search criterion.
  • Employee responsible – If required, enter the partner number of the employee responsible as search criterion. External and internal partners of the Person category with the role Employee are permitted here.
  • Partner – If required, enter as search criterion the partner number of a partner assigned as addressee.
  • Contact person – If required, enter as search criterion the partner number of a partner assigned as addressee.
  • Organization responsible – If required, enter the number of a sales organization as search criterion.

Work pane

The work pane has a table in which the queried campaigns are displayed.

You can determine which information is to be displayed about a campaign. Multiple views can be created in order to view a campaign in different ways and with different information.

Default view

All important table columns of the Default view are described below. If further columns are added, you will find their full description in the What’s this help function:

  • Campaign type – Displays the type of the campaign.
  • Number – Displays the identification of the campaign.
  • Description – Displays the description of the campaign.
  • Organization responsible – Displays the number of the organization responsible.
  • Name of responsible organization – Displays the name of the organization responsible.
  • Employee responsible – Displays the partner number of the employee responsible.
  • Name of responsible employee – Displays the name of the employee responsible.
  • Begin date – Displays the begin date of the campaign.
  • End date – Displays the end date of the campaign.
  • Status – Displays the status of the campaign. A campaign can have the following statuses:
    • Released
    • Blocked
    • Completed
    • Created
    • Addressee verification required
    • Reorganization started
  • Campaign Category – Displays the campaign category. The following categories are available:
    • Sales campaign
    • Information campaign

Customizing

You can switch the Relationship management on or off as a whole by activating or deactivating the main function Relationship management in the Customizing application.

Business entities

The following business entity is relevant for the Cockpit: Campaigns application and is used e.g. for

  • assigning authorizations,
  • setting up activity definitions, or
  • importing/exporting data:

Campaign: com.cisag.app.crm.obj.Campaign

The business entity is part of the following business entity grouping: OrderData

Authorizations

Authorizations can be granted by means of authorization roles as well as by assigning an organization. The authorization concept is described in the technical documentation Authorizations.

Special capabilities

The application Cockpit: Campaigns has no special capabilities.

Organization assignments

Organizational structures serve to control which data is to be visible, usable, or editable. For this purpose, the Content-based authorizations function must be activated in the Customizing application.

In order that a person is able to query campaigns, one of the organizations assigned to that person has to be entered in the Authorizations table in the Campaign types application.

Special features

The application Cockpit: Campaigns has no special features.

Authorizations for business partners

The application Cockpit: Campaigns is released for business partners of the External sales representatives category.
