Cockpit: Identifiers

Topic overview

The Cockpit: Identifiers application is primarily used to query identifiers via their basic information, such as identifier and item. This application provides you with an overview of the created identifiers. You can also execute the action to change the QA status for one or more identifiers from the application.

The main general description of a cockpit, which includes the usual handling of a query and work pane, can be found in the Cockpits article. Information on customizing, business entities and authorizations can be found in the Identifiers article, which describes the Identifiers application. The topics that are specifically relevant for the Cockpit: Identifiers application are covered below.

Application description

With the help of the query application Cockpit: Identifiers you can get an overview of all or selected identifiers. Further editing options are also available:

  • switching to the Identifiers application via the voucher number to continue editing the voucher
  • execution of application-related actions

The application consists of a query pane and a work pane.

Query pane

Query fields are stored in the query pane. As a rule, the most important query fields are already present. However, the number of query fields and their placement can vary.

The query pane is saved per view. You can determine which query fields are displayed. To do this, select the desired query fields from a list of fields. The description of the query fields can usually be found in the direct help.

General descriptions of a query pane can be found in the Cockpits article.

For general information on the meaning of the fields for identifiers, please refer to the explanations in the Identifiers article. The special features are described below:

Identifier category – if required, select one or more identifier categories in this field to limit the search to certain identifier categories. The following identifier categories are available:

  • Batch
  • Lot
  • Serial number with inventory management
  • Serial number without inventory management

Search details

In addition to the main search with the query identifiers in the query pane, detail searches can also be used. Detail searches can be combined with the main search so that both the query identifiers from the query pane and the query identifiers of the detail search are evaluated as an AND link. A checkbox is available in the grouping line of the detail search for combining. A separate button is available for each detail search so that corresponding results can also be displayed in the work pane. If this button is activated, an additional heading line appears in the work pane with the corresponding detailed information.

The following detail searches are available:

  • Weights and dimensions
  • Batch data
  • Serial number data

Work pane

A table is available in the work pane in which the queried identifiers are displayed. You can individually specify which identifier information to display. Multiple views can be created to analyze identifiers in different ways using different information.

If you have also activated a detail search button, the table contains an additional heading line and detailed information.

General descriptions of a work pane can be found in the Cockpits article.

For information on the general meaning of the columns, please refer to the explanations in the Identifiers article.

The special features are described below:

FIFO date (identifier generation date/exp. date) – this column displays the FIFO date of the identifier. For Lot and Serial number identifiers, this is the generation date and for Batch identifiers, this is the expiration date (BBD).

QA status (identifier) – the QA status of the identifier is displayed as an icon in this column:

  • Released (green icon)
  • In quarantine (yellow icon)
  • Blocked (red icon)

You can use the [Change QA status…] action to change the quality assurance status (QA status) of identifiers. Identifier quantities that are in special inventory remain in special inventory even after a QA status change.

You cannot perform this action if the inventory management server has to process an open action to change the QA status of a warehouse, warehouse zone or storage location. QA statuses can only be changed separately for identifiers and the elements of a structured warehouse.

Preconditions

To change the QA status of an identifier, a warehouse or a warehouse zone, there must be no open task for the inventory management server.

Instructions

  1. Open the Cockpit: Identifiers application
  2. Select the identifiers whose QA status you want to change
  3. In the standard toolbar under the Actions button group, Select the action [Change QA status]
    A dialog box opens.
  4. If necessary, change the setting of the desired QA status under the Parameters tab. The description can be found in under Change QA status dialog box
  5. If necessary, change the background and output settings
  6. Select one of the buttons to execute the action
The system changes the QA status of the identifiers immediately or with a time delay.

Change quality assurance status dialog box

The following field is available in the dialog box:

QA status – in this field, specify the quality assurance status (QA status) that you want to assign to the selected identifiers. Choose between the following QA statuses:

  • Released
  • In quarantine
  • Blocked
