Cockpit: Inventory items

Topic overview

The application Cockpit: Inventory items is primarily used to query inventory items via their inventory management  information, such as item number and item description. You can use this application to obtain an overview of the recorded inevntory items. In addition, further actions can be carried out from the application for one or more items, such as the output of an inventory count list.

Application description

With the help of the query application Cockpit: Inventory items you can get an overview of all or selected inventory items. Further processing options are also available:

  • Switch to the application Items via item identification to continue editing the item
  • Execution of application-related actions

The application consists of a query area and a work area.

Query area

Query fields are stored in the query area. As a rule, the most important query fields are already present. However, the number of query fields and their placement can vary.

The query area is saved per view. You can determine which query fields are displayed. To do this, select the desired query fields from a list of fields. The description of the query fields can usually be found in the direct help.

Search details

In addition to the main search with the query characteristics in the query area, detailed searches can also be used. Detailed searches can be combined with the main search so that both the query characteristics from the query area and the query characteristics of the detailed search are evaluated as an AND link. A checkbox is available in the section line of the detailed search for combining. A separate button is available for each detailed search so that corresponding results can also be displayed in the work area. If this button is activated, an additional heading line appears in the work area with the corresponding detailed information.

  • Packaging
  • Weights and dimensions
  • Identifier data
  • Storage restrictions (item)
  • Storage strategies (item)
  • Warehouse data
  • Storage restrictions (warehouse)
  • Storage strategies (warehouse)

As a rule, the most important query fields are already available. You can determine yourself which query fields are displayed. To do this, select the desired query fields from a list of fields. The description of the query fields can usually be found in the direct help. If necessary, use the input help for the query field.

Work area

A table is available in the work area in which the queried inventory items are displayed. You can determine yourself which inventory item information is displayed. Several views can be created to view an inventory item in different ways with different information.

If you have also activated a detailed search button, the table contains an additional heading line and detailed information.

You can use the [Generate inventory count list…] action to create inventory count lists for selected objects.

Inventory count lists can only be generated for a non-completed inventory. Objects that do not match the characteristics of the physical inventory are ignored.

If there is an open inventory count list item with the same characteristics as a selected inventory, for example, an information line item is created if you have activated the corresponding function.

The generated inventory count list includes inventories of a selected item or storage location according to the other characteristics for generating the inventory count list. If, for example, you have only selected one of several item inventories in a storage location, then items for all item inventories in the storage location are generated in the inventory count list.
