Topic overview
The Cockpit: Inventory requisitions application is primarily used to query inventory requisitions via their basic information, such as inventory requisition type and number. You can use this application to obtain an overview of the inventory requisitions entered. In addition, inventory requisitions can be generated from the application for one or more inventory requisitions.
The main general description of a cockpit, which includes the usual handling of a query and work panes, can be found in the Cockpits article. Information on customizing, business entities and authorizations can be found in the Inventory requisitions article, which describes the voucher application. The topics that apply specifically to the Cockpit: Inventory requisitions application are covered below.
Application description
You can use the Cockpit: Inventory requisitions application to view inventory requisitions from the warehouse area and perform actions for these vouchers. The basic data of the vouchers is displayed in this cockpit.
Further processing options are also available:
- Display the voucher chain for an individual voucher
- Switch via the voucher number to the Inventory requisitions application to further process the voucher
- Generate inventory orders
- Manually complete the transport process and cancel the completion again
- Release inventory requisitions
The application consists of a query pane and a work pane.
Query area
Query fields are stored in the query pane. As a rule, the most important query fields are already available. However, the number of query fields and their placement can vary.
The query pane is saved per view. You can determine which query fields are displayed. To do this, select the desired query fields from a list of fields. The description of the query fields can usually be found in the direct help.
General descriptions of a query field can be found in the Cockpits article.
Detail search Picking information
In addition to the main search with the query characteristics in the query pane, the detail search Picking information can be used. Detail searches can be combined with the main search so that both the query characteristics from the query pane and the query characteristics from the detail search are evaluated as an AND link. A checkbox is available in the section line of the detail search for combining. The [Picking information] button is available to display the corresponding results in the work pane. If this button is activated, a further heading line with corresponding detailed information appears in the work pane.
Work pane
A table is available in the work pane in which the queried inventory requisitions are displayed. You can determine yourself which information is displayed for an inventory requisition. Several views can be created to view an inventory requisition in different ways with different information.
If you have also activated a detail search button, the table contains an additional heading line and detailed information.
General descriptions of a work pane can be found in the Cockpits article.
For information on the meaning of the columns, please refer to the explanations in the Inventory requisitions article.
Application-related actions
The following application-related actions are available in the Cockpit: Inventory requisitions application:
- Generate inventory orders
- Manually complete transport process
- Cancel manual completion of the transport process
- Release inventory requisitions
- Release inventory requisitions and generate inventory orders
Generate inventory orders
[Generate inventory orders] action under the Actions button group in the standard toolbar is used to create inventory orders for inventory requisitions that are marked with the status Inventory requisition generated.
Manually complete transport process
You can change the status of an inventory requisition and its open line items using the [Manually complete transport process] action under the Select action button group in the standard toolbar. You can use this action to manually mark all the line items as Completed whose quantities have not been completely transported and thus exclude a transport process that still needs to be carried out.
As all open line items are processed with this action, the result also affects the inventory requisition as a whole and the general status of the inventory requisition changes to Manually completed. The precondition for executing this action are that the inventory requisition has the status Released, line item quantities are still to be transported and there is no open inventory order.
If the status of a line item has been manually changed to Completed, the corresponding line item status icon is marked with a blue frame. If a line item has been completed manually, the tooltip for the Transported quantity field contains the manually completed quantity.
Cancel manual completion of the transport process
You can change the status of an inventory requisition and its manually completed line items using the [Cancel manual completion of the transport process] action under the Select action button in the standard toolbar. You can use this action to edit all line items that are marked with the status Manually completed and thus enable a transport process that still needs to be carried out. As line items with an open transport quantity exist again, the result also affects the inventory requisition as a whole and the general status of the inventory requisition changes to Released if necessary. The precondition for executing this action is that line items are marked as Manually completed.
If the status for a line item has been reset with this action, the blue frame is removed for the corresponding line item status icon.
Release inventory requisitions
You can use the [Release inventory requisitions] action to release both the selected inventory requisitions and their line items. The release at line item level requires various validations, which in turn depend on the inventory requisition type. If, for example, a storage location reservation for a putaway could not be generated, the affected line item remains in the status In process.
The action can be carried out repeatedly.
Release inventory requisitions and generate inventory orders
You can use the [Release inventory requisitions and generate inventory orders] action to release both the selected inventory requisitions and their line items and generate inventory orders for released line items. The release at line item level requires a validation. If, for example, a storage location reservation could not be created or a serial number was not assigned, the affected line item remains in In process status and is not included in the inventory order. The action can be carried out repeatedly if line items have the status In process.
