Cockpit: Items/Financials

Topic overview

The Cockpit: Items/Financials application is primarily used to query items via their accounting information, such as item number and item description, prices and classifications. You can use this application to obtain an overview of the accounting information recorded for an item. In addition, further actions can be carried out from the application for one or more items, such as the calculation of provisional stock values.

Application description

You can use the Cockpit: Items/Financials query application to obtain an overview of the accounting information for all or selected articles. Further editing options are also available:

  • Switch to the Items application via the item identification
    Execution of application-related actions
  • The application consists of a query pane and a work pane.

Query pane

Query fields are stored in the query pane. As a rule, the most important query fields are already available. However, the number of query fields and their placement can vary.
The query pane is saved per view. You can determine which query fields are displayed. To do this, select the desired query fields from a field list. The description of the query fields can usually be found in the direct help.

In addition to the main search with the query features in the query pane, detailed searches can also be used. Detailed searches can be combined with the main search so that both the query features from the query pane and the query features of the detailed search are evaluated as an AND link. A checkbox is available in the section line of the detailed search for combining. A separate button is available for each detailed search in order to be able to display corresponding results in the work pane. If this button is activated, a further heading line with corresponding detailed information appears in the work pane.

Work pane

A table is available in the work pane in which the accounting information requested for the items is displayed. You can determine yourself which information is displayed for an item. Several views can be created to view an item in different ways with different information.
If you have also activated a detailed search button, the table will contain an additional heading line and detailed information.

Calculate intermin inventory values…

You can use the Calculate intermin inventory values… action to preliminarily calculate the periodic stock values for one or more items according to the Moving average price valuation method. The stock values are calculated using the material postings recorded at the current time. You must perform the final calculation using the Calculate stock values application.

Update converted valuation prices…

You can use the Update converted valuation prices… action to update the valuation prices converted into other currencies at the exchange rates of the general exchange rate usage saved at the time of execution. The valuation prices of the selected items are converted using the current exchange rates of the general exchange rate usage.

Note
The currency in which the last price was recorded is used for the conversion. If this currency cannot be determined under certain circumstances, then the company’s base currency is used for the conversion.
The action is not visible if only one local currency is defined for all organizations.
