Topic overview
This document describes the structure of the Cockpit: Opportunities application. Said application is primarily used for querying opportunities as to their header information such as status and begin date. The application provides you with an overview of the opportunities created and lets you display their voucher references chains.
Definitions of terms
Opportunities – Opportunities are promising sales chances with potential or existing customers. Sales support information is made available for these opportunities. This may include, for example, historical or planned activities, persons involved, and the probability of making the sale.
Opportunity types – Opportunity types help identify opportunities. In the opportunity type, the number range is set for the opportunities of this type. The opportunity types also contain defaults and settings that influence further processing of the opportunities of this type.
Application description
The application consists of a query pane and a work pane. You can use all fields in the query pane as search criteria. The work pane contains a table with columns for the opportunities. The relevant opportunities are displayed there.
Query pane
The query pane is used to store query fields. As a rule, the most important query fields are already provided. However, the number of query fields and their placement may vary.
The query pane is the same for all views of the work pane. You can determine which query fields are to be displayed.
All important query fields are listed below. If further fields are added, you will find their full description in the What’s this help function:
- Number – If required, enter the opportunity number as search criterion. Type and number together clearly identify an opportunity.
- Description – If required, enter a description of the opportunity as search criterion.
- Status – If required, select the status of the opportunity as search criterion. The following statuses can be selected:
- Active
- Inactive
- Won
- Lost
- Blocked
- Reorganization started
- Sales stage – If required, enter a sales stage as search criterion.
- Probability – If required, enter a probability as search criterion.
- Revenue – If required, enter a revenue as search criterion.
- Net margin – If required, enter a net margin as search criterion.
- Begin date – If required, enter a date or a time period as search criterion for the day on which the opportunity was created or generated.
- Closing date – If required, enter as search criterion a date or time period for the closing date of the opportunity.
- Binding – If required, specify as search criterion whether the opportunity was bindingly accepted or not. The following entries are available:
- Yes
- No
- Ignore
- Classification 1 – If required, select a classification as search criterion for the opportunities. You can select a classification of the Opportunities classification 1 category available in the system.
- Classification 2 – If required, select a classification as search criterion for the opportunities. You can select a classification of the Opportunities classification 2 category available in the system.
- Classification 3 – If required, select a classification as search criterion for the opportunities. You can select a classification of the Opportunities classification 3 category available in the system.
- Classification 4 – If required, select a classification as search criterion for the opportunities. You can select a classification of the Opportunities classification 4 category available in the system.
- Classification 5 – If required, select a classification as search criterion for the opportunities. You can select a classification of the Opportunities classification 5 category available in the system.
- Partner deletion marker – You can have opportunities displayed that are linked to partners with or without deletion markers. The following options are possible:

- With deletion marker
- Without deletion marker
- Deletion marker – You can have opportunities with and without deletion markers displayed. The following options are available:
- All
- With deletion marker
- Without deletion marker
Work pane
The work pane has a table in which the queried opportunities are displayed. You can determine the information to be displayed about an opportunity. In order to view an opportunity in multiple ways with different information, you can create several views and save them.
Default view
All important table columns of the Default view are described below. If further columns are added, you will find their full description in the What’s this help function:
- Opportunity type – This column displays the opportunity type. Type and number together clearly identify an opportunity.
- Number – This column displays the number of the opportunity. Type and number together clearly identify an opportunity.
- Deletion marker – This column shows whether the opportunity is marked for deletion.
- Partner – This column displays the partner linked to the opportunity.
- Partner search string – This column displays the search string assigned to the partner.
- Partner deletion marker – This column shows whether the partner linked to the opportunity is marked for deletion.
- Organization responsible – This column displays the organization responsible for the opportunity.
- Organization responsible description – This field displays the description of the organization responsible.
- Begin date – This column displays the begin date of the opportunity.
- Probability – This column displays the success probability of the opportunity as entered in the opportunity itself.
- Revenue – This column displays the target revenue for the opportunity as entered in the opportunity itself.
- Sales stage – This column displays the sales stage number assigned to the opportunity.
- Sales stage description – This column displays the description of the sales stage.
- Status – This column displays an icon for the status of the opportunity. An opportunity can have the following statuses:
- Active
- Inactive
- Won
- Lost
- Blocked
- Reorganization started
- Binding – If the opportunity you are searching for is binding, a check mark is displayed in this column.
- Closing date – This column displays the date that was set as target date for the successful closure of the opportunity.
- Net margin – This column displays the target net margin as it was entered in the opportunity.
- Employee responsible – This column displays the partner number of the employee responsible for the opportunity.
- Name of responsible employee – This column displays the name of the employee responsible for the opportunity.
Customizing
No settings need to be made in the Customizing application for the Cockpit: Opportunities application.
Business entities
The following business entity is relevant for the Cockpit: Opportunities application and is used e.g. for
- assigning authorizations,
- setting up activity definitions, or
- importing/exporting data:
Opportunity: com.cisag.app.crm.obj.Opportunity
The business entity is part of the following business entity grouping: OrderData
Authorizations
Authorizations can be granted by means of authorization roles as well as by assigning an organization. The authorization concept is described in the technical documentation Authorizations.
Special capabilities
The Cockpit: Opportunities application has no special capabilities.
Organization assignments
Organizational structures serve to control which data is to be visible, usable, or editable. For this purpose, the Content-based authorizations function must be activated in the Customizing application.
To ensure that a person can see the Cockpit: Opportunities application in the user menu and can open it, that person must be assigned to an organization that is connected to one of the following organizational structures:
- Sales
In order to ensure that a person is able to query documents, one of the organizations assigned to that person has to be entered in the Authorizations table in the Opportunity types application.

Special features
The Cockpit: Opportunities application has no special features.

The Cockpit: Opportunities application is released for business partners of the Sales representatives category.
