Topic overview
The master data replication is based on the setting of replication relations and the replication configurations generated on this basis. If the replication of a record cannot be performed, for example, due to a missing external key (e.g., classifications) in the dependent organization, this record will be labelled with an error status. The Cockpit: Replication data application is used for displaying and correcting such erroneous records.
Due to the fact that this cockpit is independent of organization, the currently set organization cannot affect the selection of the data.
The Replication data cockpit is a customizable cockpit and can be flexibly adapted to every single user. For a detailed description of customizable cockpits, refer to the Customizable Cockpits article.
This article describes the Cockpit: Replication data application.
Application description
With the Cockpit: Replication data application, you can gain an overview of all or individual incorrect records of master data replications. All records that match the search criteria of the query pane will be displayed.
In order to obtain correct master data in the dependent organizations, the records displayed here must be corrected. First, error messages should be checked. You can display the error messages for every entry with the Display errors button. You can use the Zoom view to have them displayed separately. If the [Display errors] button is not displayed, activate it with the Display detailed search selection, using the magnifying glass icon.
The incorrect data can be corrected directly in the master data application of the dependent organization. Double click in a row in order to open the corresponding application with the incorrect record to be edited. After the data have been saved and the cockpit display has been updated, the error status and the corrected entry will be removed from the display.
The application consists of a query pane and a work pane.
Query pane
In the query pane, query fields for limiting the display are available. The most important query fields are usually already present. However, the number of query fields and their placement can vary. You can specify which query fields are displayed.
All important query fields are listed below. If more fields are added, you will find their full description in the article regarding the related application in each case.
Detailed description of query pane fields:
- Dependent organization – here the dependent organizations in which the incorrectly replicated data records have emerged are displayed.
- Data object – here the data objects of the incorrectly replicated data records are displayed.
- Status (replication) – here the replication status of the replicated data records is displayed.
Work pane
The work pane has a table in which the data of the queried master data records are displayed. You can decide which information will be displayed. Multiple views can be created in order to view the incorrect data records in different ways and with different information.
The fields of the Standard view are described below. Basically, all editable fields can be displayed for the selection, but they cannot be created.
Standard view
Detailed description of the columns:
- Dependent organization – this column displays the dependent organizations where the incorrectly replicated records emerged.
- Data object – this column displays the data objects of the incorrectly replicated records.
- Identification – this column displays the content of the incorrectly replicated data field, its description, and the dependent organization of a data object.
- Maintaining organization – this column displays the maintaining organization of an incorrectly replicated data record.
- Status (replication) – this column indicates whether the transfer of the data content is incorrect or if the data content has been successfully replicated.
Display errors button
If you activate the identification left of the Display errors button, you can specify additional selection fields with the Display icon. For more information, refer to the Customizable Cockpits article.
When you click the Display errors button, an additional row with information regarding the errors occurred is displayed in the column headings. You can use the Zoom view to have the errors displayed separately per entry.
Detailed description of the columns:
- Message class – this column displays the message class of the error (e.g., application area of the error).
- Message number – this column displays the message number of the error. This is unique in combination with the message class.
- Text – this column contains the explanatory text of the error message.
- Message severity – this column contains information on the severity of the errors that occurred
Customizing
The Cockpit: Replication data application does not need any specific settings in Customizing.
Business entities
The following business entity is relevant for the Cockpit: Replication data application that you use, for example, in order to:
- Assign authorizations,
- Set up activity definitions or
- Import or export
Replication errors
com.sem.ext.app.fin.general.obj.ReplicationError
Authorizations
Authorizations can be assigned by means of authorization roles as well as through a content-based authorization (by assignment to organizations). The authorization concept is described in the Authorizations article.
Special capabilities
The Cockpit: Replication data application has no special capabilities.
Organizational assignments
Organizational structures are used to control which data can be viewed, used, or edited. The Content-based authorizations function must be activated in the Customizing application for this purpose.
To ensure that the Cockpit: Replication data application is displayed for a person in the user menu, the user must be assigned to an organization that is connected to one of the following organization structures:
- Financials
Special features
The Cockpit: Replication data application has no special features.
Authorizations for business partners
The Cockpit: Replication data application is not released for business partners.
