Topic overview
The Cockpit: Transaction dates application is primarily used to query inventories and their transaction data. You can use this application to obtain an overview of frequently and less frequently moved items in order to draw conclusions, e.g. for their sales. The basis for the transaction data displayed is a transaction date determination rule. According to this rule, the data must first be determined so that it can be queried in the Cockpit application.
The essential general description of a cockpit, which includes the usual handling of a query and work panes, can be found in the Cockpits article. For a description on how to define transaction date determination rules and determine the corresponding data, refer to the Movement date determination rules article.
The topics are specifically relevant for the application Cockpit: Transaction dates application.
Application description
With the help of the query application Cockpit: Transaction dates query application, you can obtain an overview of inventories and their last transaction date. The application offers the following views:
- Standard – all transaction data is listed using the standard view.
- Inventory information – this view is used to list the transaction data, taking into account the total inventory.
With the help of the [Generate inventory count list] action, you can generate inventory count lists from within the application.
The application consists of a query pane and a work pane.
Query area
Query fields are stored in the query pane. As a rule, the most important query fields are already provided. However, the number of query fields and their placement can vary.
The query pane is saved per view. You can determine which query fields to display. To do this, select the desired query fields from a list of fields. The description of the query fields can usually be found in the direct help.
General descriptions of a query pane can be found in the Cockpits article.
The special features are described below:
Inventory owner – enter an inventory owner as a query characteristic. If you want to query the transaction data of an item whose inventory is not assigned to a specific inventory owner but to a group of inventory owners, you must leave the field empty. If you are grouping by inventory owner, then such an overlapping inventory forms its own group.
Transaction date determination rule – if required, enter an active transaction date determination rule as a query characteristic for which you want to query the transaction data of an item. If you also want to query the total inventory, then use a rule in which a determination level is defined that takes inventory owners into account. Otherwise, the total inventory cannot be determined.
Transaction date determination level – if required, enter a determination level as a query characteristic. If you also want to query the total inventory, then use a level in which the inventory owners are taken into account. Otherwise, the total inventory cannot be determined.
Last transaction date – enter the inventory quantity of an item as a query characteristic. To prevent zero inventories from being displayed, enter the value <> 0. This is the default value. Zero inventory levels often exist for items that are no longer kept in inventory.
Work area
A table is available in the work pane in which the queried inventories are displayed. You can determine which information about inventories to display. To view inventories in different ways with different information, several views can be created.
General descriptions of a work pane can be found in the Cockpits article.
Application-related action: [Generate inventory count list]
You can use the [Generate inventory count list] action to generate inventory count lists for selected objects.
Inventory count lists can only be generated for a non-completed inventory. Objects that do not match the characteristics of the inventory are ignored.
If there is an open inventory count list line item with the same characteristics as a selected inventory, for example, an information item is created if you have activated the corresponding function.
The generated inventory count list includes inventories of a selected item or storage location according to the other characteristics for generating the inventory count list. If, for example, you have only selected one of several item inventories in a storage location, then line items for all item inventories in the storage location are generated in the inventory count list.
Further information on the action can be found in the Action: [Generate inventory count list] article.
