The Currencies application makes it possible to define currencies as monetary units for necessary master data or edit existing currency data.
Currencies can be declared as the internal currencies of a given company. If multiple internal currencies are used simultaneously, one currency must be designated as the primary currency.
System currencies can be configured in Customizing → Functions → Base → General.
Defined currencies are used, for instance, in:
- The Currency field in the Sales price lists application
- The Currency field in the Sales channels application
- The Currency field in the Simulate sales prices application
The application is composed of a header containing the standard toolbar.
Header
The application header makes it possible to define a new currency or edit an existing one; the user can also delete a currency, provided it has not been associated with another system element, e.g. a county. The header is composed of the following fields:
- Currency (required) – it allows entering the ISO code of a currency as its ID
- Description – a currency description
- Decimal places – it allows specifying the number of decimal places for a currency
- Symbol – it can be used to enter a relevant currency symbol (e.g. € for EUR)
- EMU currency – this parameter can be used to specify whether a given currency is to be converted into another EMU currency according to the same principle as at the time of EUR introduction
Business entities
The following business entity is relevant to the Currencies application: com.cisag.app.general.obj.Currency. It is used, for instance, to:
- Assign authorizations
- Provide activity definitions
- Import or export data
The business entity belongs to the following business entity group: com.cisag.app.general.MasterData.
Authorizations
Authorizations can be assigned by means of authorization roles, as well as by assigning an organization. The authorization concept is described in the Authorizations article.

No organization assignment is required for the Currencies application.

The Currencies application is not released for business partners.
