Partner relationship categories

Partners are persons (people) or organizational units (companies). They are related to each other in their own companies internally (root being the (active OLTP) client) and externally.

Internal relations are used to specify business relationships between employees themselves and between employees and the employer.

External relations are used to specify business relationships with partners from other companies.

The above business dependencies can be defined and categorized in the Partner relationship categories application.

Note
Relationship categories are always defined from the perspective of the partner for which the relationship of a particular category is entered.

Partner relationship categories can be defined in any number. They are defined according to future utilization the entered partner.

Application description

The Partner relationship categories application consists of an identific­ation pane and a work pane.

Query pane

In the query pane you can define the search criteria and filter the list using the button PRZYCISK

The available search fields are:

  • Relationship category – name/identifier of relationship category
  • Description – additional description entered as search criterion
  • Classification – select any or all combinations of the possible classifications in this field:
    • Company structural organization
    • Sales
    • Purchasing
    • General
    • Financials
    • Human resources
  • Time-dependent – select in this field whether the searched relationship category depends on time:
    • Yes
    • No
    • Ignore
Example
Some relationship categories are created in a specified time interval. By entering into relationship with an employer, a new employee signs a preliminary employment contract for a definite period, thus binding and time-limited relationship with the employer is created in the system.

Work pane

The work pane consists of a line item table that displays the available relationship categories and the line item editor.

The table displays only the line items that meet the criteria entered in the search pane.

The table cells are not editable and are informative only.

The table consists of the following columns:

  • Relationship category – name of relationship category
  • Description – additional name for the partner relationship category
  • Classification of selected relationship category
  • Time-dependent – information on whether the selected relationship category is time-limited

Work pane – line item editor

In the line item editor you can add new partner relationship categories using the following options:

[Add] – creates a new relationship category

[Duplicate] – copies an already existing relationship category in the edit mode

Fields and parameters available in the line item editor:

  • Relationship category – unique identifier/name of relationship category. It can be composed of 40 characters maximum
  • Description – additional name for the partner relationship category
  • Classification – classifies the category of created relationship:
    • Company structural organization
    • Sales
    • Purchasing
    • General
    • Financials
    • Human resources
  • Time-dependent – if selected, the indicated relationship category becomes time-dependent
  • Cardinality – specifies the utilization of relationship categories with the available options:
  • 1:1 – creates only one relationship between partners of the same category on the partner form in the Relationships view
  • 1:n – creates multiple relationships
Note
1:1 relationship can be used only after the Sequence parameter has been deselected.
  • Automatically generate inverse relationships – if selected, it presents information on the partner chart about the partner’s relationship with other partner. It is presented in the application Partners à Relationships view à Where-used list The table activates after selecting the button available in the work pane.
  • Sequence – specifies the order as part of a given relationship category.
  • Incoming relationship category – this field activates upon selecting first the Incoming relationship category Here you can specify a relationship category to be used when external (incoming) relationships are generated.
  • Kind of source partner – partner category necessary to define a relationship of this type:
    • Company
    • Business unit
    • Site
    • Department
    • Group
    • Pseudo-partner
    • Person
    • All (default option)
  • Kind of target partner – partner category necessary to define a relationship of this type:
    • Company
    • Business unit
    • Site
    • Department
    • Group
    • Pseudo-partner
    • Person
    • All (default option)
  • Source partner affiliation – specifies the affiliation of the partner for whom a relationship category is defined. Possible options:
    • Internal
    • External
    • All (default group)
  • Target partner affiliation – specifies the affiliation of the partner with whom a relationship category is defined.
    • Internal
    • External
    • All (default group)
