Procedures: Items, Customer planning data view

Topic overview

This document describes the Custome planning data view in Items application, which can be used, e.g., for entering requisition data for a specific customer.

Note
With the use of the Items application it is possible to edit item data in reference to a client. In the Customers view, the buttons on the standard toolbar are related to the data of the item connected to the customer’s planning.

Create item data for customer-related planning

Preconditions

Data can be entered for Customer planning data view only if the item already has sales data. In a multi-site environment, the item must have sales data for the selected organization.

If a variant item is involved, the related reference item must already have the item data for the desired customer. The organizations must be the same in a multi-site environment.

In a multi-site or single-site environment with activated content-based authorizations, the selected organization must be a sales organization.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to enter customer planning data.
  3. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing the data.
  4. Switch to Customer planning data view.
  5. Click on [New] button on the standard toolbar.
  6. In Customer field, enter the customer for which you want to enter customer planning data.
  7. If required, fill out the other fields with the desired sales data.
  8. Click on [Save] button on the standard toolbar.

Delete item data for customer-related planning

Item data for a customer-related planning is not deleted directly and must first be marked for deletion. Only those versions of customer-related planning data that have their entire validity period in the future can be deleted directly, since they have not been used yet.

Mark customer-related planning data for deletion

Preconditions

The item data for customer-related planning has not been marked for deletion yet.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Switch to Customer planning data view.
  3. Open the item for which you want to delete customer planning data.
  4. Open the customer whose planning data is to be marked for deletion.
  5. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing the item.
  6. Click on Mark for deletion in the standard toolbar.
  • The customer-related planning data of the item is marked for deletion and saved.
Note
The customer-related planning data of the item contains a mark for deletion in all versions. In a multi-site environment as well, the data other than the selected organization are not included.  

Unmark customer-related planning data for deletion

Preconditions

The item data for customer-related planning has been marked for deletion.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to unmark the customer-related planning data for deletion.
  3. Switch to Customer planning data view.
  4. Open the customer for which the item data need to be marked for deletion.
  5. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing the item.
  6. Click on [Unmark for deletion] in the standard toolbar.
  • Deletion flag will be removed.
Note
In a multi-site environment: Even if the selected organization is an (active OLTP) client, the mark for deletion is removed only for the selected organization.

Delete customer-related planning data version

Preconditions

A customer-related planning data version, that will be valid only in the future, exists.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to delete a future version of the customer-related planning data.
  3. Switch to Customer planning data view.
  4. Open the customer whose planning data version you want to delete.
  5. In a multi-site environment, select the organization for which you are editing the data.
  6. Using [Next] and [Back] buttons browse in the Valid from field and switch to a future version of the customer-related planning data to be deleted.
  7. Click on [Delete] button on the standard toolbar.
  • The selected version of the customer-related planning data is deleted.
Note
By deleting a future version, the validity period of the previous version is correspondingly extended.

Create a new version of customer- related planning data

Preconditions

In order to generate a new version, it is important for the item to have a customer-related planning data.

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to enter a future version of the customer-related planning data.
  3. Switch to Customer planning data view.
  4. Open the customer for which you want to enter a new version of the customer-related planning data.
  5. Click on [New version] button on the standard toolbar.
  • A new version of the customer-related planning data will be generated.

6. Enter a future date from which the planning data will be valid in the Valid from field.

7. Click on [Save] button on the standard toolbar.

  • This selected version of the item data is deleted.

Duplicate customer-related planning data

Instructions

  1. Open the Items application.
  2. Open the item for which you want to duplicate customer-related planning data.
  3. Switch to Customer planning data view.
  4. Open the customer whose customer-related planning data you want to duplicate.
  5. Click on [Duplicate] button on the standard toolbar.
  • The system generates a new record.

6. Specify the desired customer.

7. Save the new customer-related planning data.
