This article describes the procedures for using the Transaction date determination rules application. They relate to the activation and deactivation of transaction date determination rules. Activating a transaction date determination rule
Preconditions
A transaction date determination rule exists and is not active.
Instructions
- Open theTransaction date determination rules application
- Open the transaction date determination rule that you want to activate
- The selected transaction date determination rule is opened.
- Select the [Actions] button in the standard toolbar and select the action [Transaction date determination rule]
- The transaction date determination rule is given the status Active and Data not determined.
It is alternatively available for the Determine last transaction date batch application so that the transaction data is automatically determined at the desired intervals, and if all activated rules are taken into account for the series, then you can wait for the corresponding batch application to run. See also chapter Determining transaction data for all or selected active rules and executing as a series.
Determining transaction data
Preconditions
A transaction date determination rule exists and is active.
Instructions
- Open the Transaction date determination rules application
- Open the transaction date determination rule according to which you want to determine the last transaction date
- The selected transaction date determination rule is opened.
- Select the [Actions] button in the standard toolbar and then the action [Determine last transaction date]
- A dialog window for running the batch application Determine last transaction date is opened.
- In the application window of the batch application, enter the following under the Application tab, Action sub-tab in the From posting date field: enter a date from which the last transaction date is to be determined in accordance with the transaction date determination rule.
- In the application window of the batch application, enter the following under the Application tab, Action sub-tab in the field Transaction date determination rule field: select the rule according to which you want to determine the transaction date. The open rule is suggested to you.
NotePlease note that if you do not specify a rule, the data is recalculated for all active rules.
- Complete the background settings under the Background settings tab in the Processing queue field: enter a processing queue
- Select the [In background] button
- The application window is closed.
- The batch application Determine last transaction date is executed and the transaction data is determined. The transaction date determination rule receives the status Data determination in progress (time stamp) while the batch application is running.
- If required, select the [Refresh] button in the standard toolbar
- If the batch application is still running, the status Data determination in progress (time stamp) is displayed. If data determination has already been completed, the status Data determined (time stamp) is displayed.
- You are usually informed about the completed execution of the batch application by a dialog window. This contains buttons that you can use to switch to the corresponding applications in order to view both the messages and the processing jobs.
Determining transaction data for all or selected active rules and executing as a series
- Open the batch application Determine last transaction date
- The batch application Determine last transaction date is opened
- In the application window of the batch application, enter the following under the Application tab, Action sub-tab in the From posting date field: enter a date from which the last transaction date is to be determined in accordance with the transaction date determination rule.
- one or more rules according to which you want to determine the transaction date,
or
- no rule. In this case, the data is recalculated for all active rules.
- Complete the background settings under the Backgroung settings tab in the Processing queue field: enter a processing queue.
- Under the Background settings tab, select a start type in the Start field, e.g. Scheduled: as a series, and edit the associated parameters. A description of these parameters can be found in the Operating guidelines article (see chapter: Background settings tab).
- Select the [In background] button
- The batch application Determine last transaction date is executed and the transaction data is determined. An affected transaction date determination rule receives the status Data determination in progress (time stamp) while the batch application is running.
- If required, switch to Transaction date determination rules application and to an affected transaction date determination rule
- If required, select the [Refresh] button in the standard toolbar
- If the batch application is still running, the status Data determination in progress (time stamp) is displayed. If data determination has already been completed, the status Data determined (time stamp) is displayed.

Deactivating a transaction date determination rule
Preconditions
A transaction date determination rule exists and is active.
Instructions
- Open the Transaction date determination rules application
- Open the active transaction date determination rule that you want to deactivate
- The selected transaction date determination rule is opened.
- Select the [Actions] button in the standard toolbar and then the action [Deactivate transaction date determination rule]
- If there is no data for the open transaction date determination rule, the rule is deactivated.
Otherwise, if data has already been determined for the open rule, a dialog window opens. This informs you about the effects of deactivation (deletion of determined data) and gives you the opportunity to confirm or cancel the deactivation.
- If there is no data for the open transaction date determination rule, the rule is deactivated.
- Confirm the deactivation of the rule in the dialog window by clicking on [Yes]
- The transaction date determination rule receives the status Inactive.
- Existing transaction data for the deactivated rule is deleted.
