The reorganization application Reorganize opportunities reorganizes opportunities. The following text describes the usage of the reorganization application and its parameters, among other things. You will also be informed about the effects of the reorganization.

The reorganization applications are executed via the Reorganization jobs application. You will find the description of this application in the Reorganization jobs documentation. There, you will also learn about how to run the reorganization application.

In the Reorganization jobs application, various reorganization applications are included in a list in order to run them sequentially with a reorganization job. In many cases, a certain sequence must be observed within the list in order for the reorganization to be carried out. Only in this manner can utilizations be resolved. Said sequence is described in the Reorganization sequence documentation.

Definitions of terms

Batch application – A batch application is an application that is run without interaction with a user. It can be opened either by a batch job, a CORBA call-up, or another application.

Reorganization – When data are reorganized, they are physically deleted from the database. Deletion requires a set of checks to be satisfied. With reorganization, any business objects that are dependent on the data to be deleted are also deleted.

Reorganization applications – Reorganization applications are batch applications with the special “reorganization” use. Reorganization applications are used to reorganize master and transaction data according to certain criteria.

Reorganization job – A reorganization job is a batch job exclusively for calling up one or more reorganization applications. The reorganization applications are called up in an individual sequence, whereby sequence dependencies are considered.

Description

The reorganization application Reorganize opportunities reorganizes opportunities. The opportunities with deletion markers are the ones that are relevant for this process. Whether a certain opportunity will be reorganized or not, depends on the preconditions described in the next chapter.

Preconditions

One precondition for the reorganization of an opportunity is that said campaign is marked for deletion. Otherwise, the opportunity will not be reorganized. In addition, the following requirements must be met:

  • The opportunity has the status Won or Lost.
  • All activities of the opportunity have the status Completed or Completed unprocessed.
  • The opportunity is not connected with any vouchers of the category Sales quotation.
  • The connected sales campaigns have the status Completed.

Effects

The opportunity is deleted.

Parameters

The reorganization application has the following parameters:

  • Maximum runtime – The maximum runtime of a reorganization application is the time after which the reorganization application is closed at the latest. The default time for this is ten minutes.
  • Export mode – Indicates whether the archiving will be exported and which archiving category will be exported. The following export modes are available:
    • Do not export
    • Export all attributes
    • Export with filter

    This mode is only available if an export is possible in the Export data application. The export mode is only available if the reorganization application allows data archiving.

  • Destination folder – The destination folder is used for archiving the reorganized data. The data is archived in a subfolder with the name of the OLTP database. Under this folder, one more folder will be created per business entity, in which the actual archive files will be stored. The subfolder “usr/archive” in the file server path of the ERP System Application Server is the default for this.
  • Export filter – For the “Export with filter” export mode, you can specify an export filter to be used for archiving. You can specify the export filter in the Export data application. This field is only available if the business object to be reorganized can be exported using the Export data application.
