If a value- or weight-based code happens to start with the digit 0, it is necessary to change the settings of a Zebra or Honeywell scanning device according to the steps below.

Configuration of a Zebra device

1. Launch the DataWedge application for scanning configuration.

2. Select a profile marked as default.

3. Search the Decoder-Parameter setting.

4. Select UPCA on the list of available codes.

5. In the displayed view, select/change the Preamble parameter setting to Preamble Country And Sys Char.

Configuration of a Honeywell device

1. Open application settings and search for Honeywell Settings.

2. Select the Scanning setting.

3. Select Internal Scanner.

4. Select Default profile.

5. On the default profile, go to Symbology Settings.

6. Search UPC-A on the list of available codes.

7. In the displayed UPC-A view, activate the Translate to EAN13 parameter.
