Comarch ERP Key Manager

Comarch ERP Key Manager is an application you use to download and activate purchased modules of Comarch ERP products. It can work with physical HASP keys, SoftHASP files, and modules needed for such applications as Comarch webPOS. Comarch ERP Key Manager is a replacement for the HASP Key Service and the Remote Key Server.

One of its assets is the ability to work on virtual machines using keys activated at Comarch.

The green color of the padlock icon indicates that the status is correct and that you can start working with the latest versions of the purchased programs. The icon can have one of the following colors:

  • Red – there is no information on available modules or the Managing Keys of Comarch ERP products service is stopped; applications can only work in the DEMO mode
  • Yellow – the program is beyond warranty; you can only use software versions whose production dates are earlier than the expiration dates of the purchased modules. It is recommend to extend the warranty.
  • Green – the warranty status is correct; you can start working with the latest versions of the purchased programs

Comarch ERP Key Manager Monitor

The monitoring application (Comarch MLTray) is part of Comarch ERP Key Manager. It is responsible for displaying the padlock icon on the system tray.

Options available in Comarch ERP Key Manager Monitor

The following options are available after right-clicking the padlock icon:

  • Show Configuration – displays the application window
  • Start Service – starts the Managing Keys of Comarch ERP products service
  • Restart Service – restarts the Managing Keys of Comarch ERP products service
  • Stop Service – stops the Managing Keys of Comarch ERP products service
  • Release Modules – logs out particular users from the service, in this way releasing the downloaded modules for selected keys
  • Update modules in the HASP key – updates modules in the HASP key (key programming). The update can be performed in one of the two ways:
    • Update from the Cloud – select this option to update modules in the HASP key with a RUS file automatically downloaded from Comarch servers (it requires Internet access). The update from the Cloud is not available for partner keys.
    • Update from File – select this option to choose a RUS file on the disk, appropriate for the connected HASP key in order to update the modules
  • Turn off Comarch ERP Key Manager Monitor – it removes the padlock icon from the tray; it will reappear once you run the application again

Selecting the Show Configuration option or double-clicking the green (or yellow) padlock icon opens the window of Comarch ERP Key Manager Monitor.

The window is composed of three tabs: Available Modules, Downloaded Modules, and Configuration.

Comarch ERP Key Manager Monitor

If the User Account Control (UAC) is enabled on your computer and you do not run Comarch ERP Key Manager Monitor as administrator, and if you try to perform functions that require administrator privileges (such as Start Service, Restart Service, or Stop Service) or to open advanced settings, you will be prompted to restart the monitor application as administrator.

Available Modules tab

The Available Modules tab contains the list of available modules from the connected HASP key, SoftHASP files, or modules activated at Comarch (virtual keys). You will also find the same information at http://localhost:5150/.

The top bar of the window shows the version number of Comarch ERP Key Manager.

The color of the displayed modules indicates whether a given module is valid or out of warranty. The green color indicates modules under warranty (with the expiration date later than or equal to the current date), while the yellow color indicates modules out of warranty (with the expiration date earlier than the current date). These colors correspond to the color of the padlock icon on the system tray.

Available Modules tab

Downloaded Modules tab

The Downloaded Modules tab contains information on modules downloaded by applications that use Comarch ERP Key Manager. The Logged-in Users column displays the identification data of a user who has downloaded a given module.

Downloaded Modules tab

The Downloaded Modules tab contains the following buttons:

  • Lightning icon – allows you to refresh the view (you can also use the [F5] button)
  • Bin icon – deletes all the downloaded modules for a selected user

Configuration tab

The Configuration tab contains the list of all keys connected to Comarch ERP Key Manager. These can include a HASP key, virtual keys, or a so-called SoftHASP in the form of Softhasp.sig and Softhasp.dat files located on the computer’s disk (by default, in C:\).

The Configuration tab contains the list of available keys. Each key is displayed in an appropriate color:

  • Olive – standard client key
  • Purple – partner key
  • Light-blue – company key. Such a key can only work with a database where the TIN number assigned in the company data matches the TIN number assigned to the key (in the Company ID column). The company key can either be a HASP key or a virtual key.
  • Orange – multi-company key. In this case, multiple TIN numbers are assigned to a single key. All the TIN numbers assigned to a selected multi-company key are displayed in an additional table below the list of keys. The multi-company key is an extension to the company key and works in the same manner, allowing you to connect to a database that contains one of the TIN numbers assigned to such a key. Multi-company keys can only be virtual keys.
  • Red – expired key

The Company ID column contains the TIN number or code of a company that owns the key.

Configuration tab

The Configuration tab contains the following buttons:

  • [Refresh Modules] – forces connection to Comarch servers and updates the view. You can also perform this action by pressing [Ctrl+F5].
  • [Update modules if Internet connection is unavailable] – allows you to activate modules when there is no Internet connection
  • [Add] – allows you to add a new virtual key, which requires requiring contact with Comarch servers (at least every 24 hours for Comarch ERP Optima modules and every 72 hours for Comarch ERP XL and Comarch ERP Standard). To add a new key, enter the following data in the Virtual Key Data window: Client ID, PIN, Serial Number (key number), and E-mail Address (if it is not already entered in advanced settings as Administrator’s E-mail Address).
  • [Delete] – deletes a virtual key (not applicable to HASP and SoftHasp keys). Once a virtual key is deleted from Comarch ERP Key Manager, it can be activated on another computer.
  • [Edit] – allows you to edit inactive keys
  • [Advanced] – opens an additional window with advanced configuration settings. To open this window, you need to run Comarch ERP Key Manager as an administrator.
