A digital signature is used to verify the authenticity of documents or messages. A valid digital signature confirms that the document or message came from the correct author or sender, who cannot deny the fact of its creation or transmission.

The webPOS workstation supports a mechanism for generating digital signatures for:

• Receipts
• Grand Total reports
• Archive Period files
• JET Logs

A signature is created in the system when documents are confirmed, in the format prescribed by French VAT regulations. In order to use this functionality, the following keys are required:

• Private key – used for generating digital signatures in documents
• Public key – used for verifying signature authenticity
