Cockpit: Gift cards

The Cockpit: Gift cards application comes from the Multi channel sales module of the Comarch ERP Enterprise system. The application allows you to review the gift cards that exist in the system and to review the history of actions performed on individual gift cards. The data shown in the search results is taken from the Gift cards application and from the operation history recorded for each gift card (sale, redemption, issuance, creation by an adapter).

A description of the buttons available in Cockpit-type applications and a description of the application’s capabilities (e.g. managing the fields available in the header and additional sections, design mode) can be found in the document Customizable user interface. The application also allows you to export the search results to an external file (e.g. Excel).

Hint
The application displays gift cards for the adapters that support handling them; currently these are: Comarch POS and Cloud.

Application description

The application consists of a header and a work pane. The header contains fields that allow filtering the displayed gift cards according to various criteria. The work area presents a table of the gift cards matching the search criteria, together with the History detailed search, which allows you to review the actions performed on the gift cards. A description of the standard buttons located in the application header and in the work area can be found in the article Customizable user interface.

The application allows you to manage the visibility of the search fields in the header and of the columns in the work area using the [Define query and result properties] button on the work area button bar and in design mode. Some fields are available by default; others can be added to the view using design mode.

The application header contains fields that allow filtering the search results according to the defined criteria.

  • Type – allows you to specify the type of gift card whose data is to be displayed in the work area. The values are taken from the Gift card types application and are available under the [Value assistant] button.
  • Number – allows you to enter a gift card with a specific number, assigned in the Gift cards
  • Description – allows filtering gift cards based on the description of the gift card type. Gift card type descriptions are assigned in the Gift card types
  • Gift card creation time point – allows filtering the existing gift cards by the date they were created in the system.
  • Organization responsible – allows searching by the identifier of the organization responsible for the gift card type.
  • Item – after entering an item associated with a gift card type, all gift cards associated with it are displayed in the work area.
  • Valid from – allows you to enter the start date of the gift card’s validity as a search criterion.
  • Valid until – allows you to enter the end date of the gift card’s validity as a search criterion.
  • Value – the field consists of two parts, allowing you to enter the gift card value and the currency by which the results are to be filtered.
  • External – specifies whether the displayed gift cards must have the External parameter selected. Available options: Yes, No, (Ignore).
  • Status – a drop-down list that allows you to select the gift card status by which the data is to be filtered. Available options: (All), Created, Active, Blocked, Disabled.
  • Item description – allows you to enter the description of the item assigned to the gift card as a search criterion.
  • Customer – allows filtering personalized gift cards by the code of the customer to whom the gift card is assigned.
  • Issuer code – filters external gift cards based on the issuer code compliant with the GS1-128 structure.

Work pane

The work area displays the search results matching the criteria defined in the header. If no criteria are specified, selecting the [Refresh] button displays all gift cards.

The number of columns and their position can be managed using design mode. More information in the article Customizable user interface.

Hint
The visibility of the additional sections can be managed using the Detailed search button. More information can be found in the article Customizable user interface.

The History section allows you to filter and review the actions performed on gift cards. The following parameters and section control buttons are available:

  • [Link with main query] – after selecting the button, the filtering mechanism takes into account the parameters defined in the section together with the parameters from the main header.
  • [Activate detailed search] – allows you to include the search criteria defined in the section. After activating the button, additional columns related to the detailed search appear in the results table.
  • [Show/Minimize] – displays and hides the section view respectively.
  • [Remove all filters and hide pane] – after selecting the button, the section is hidden during the current filtering.

The following filter fields are available in the section:

  • Action – allows filtering gift cards by the history of actions recorded for them. If more than one action was performed on a gift card, you can search for the gift card using one of them, but all actions of the gift card will be displayed in the work area. Available options: (All), Creation (the gift card was created), Sale (the gift card was sold, e.g. via Comarch POS), Redemption (the gift card was redeemed on a sales document – fully or partially), Creation by adapter (the gift card was generated by an adapter).
  • Action creation time point – allows filtering actions by the time they were performed in the source system. For actions performed in an adapter (e.g. Comarch POS), this is the time the document was created in the external system, not the time of synchronization with the system.
  • Transfer date – filters actions by the date the data was synchronized with the system. The field is not visible by default – it can be added in design mode. The value makes it possible to distinguish the actual time of the action in the external system from the time it was saved in the system.
  • Document type – allows filtering actions by the documents on which they were performed. Available values: (All), Sales document, Sales order, Not assigned.
  • Old value – filters actions by the gift card value before the action was performed.
  • New value – filters actions by the gift card value after the action was performed (the value remaining to be used).
Hint
The action creation time point is the value used to report the actual time an operation was performed (e.g. the sale of a gift card at a POS station). The transfer date indicates when the operation data was imported into the system – when the POS works offline, the two values may differ.

Search and views

The Cockpit: Gift cards application allows you to save your own search configurations as separate views. By default, the basic view is available. The user can adjust the visibility of the fields in the header, the order and visibility of the columns in the work area, and the default sorting. Configurations are saved in design mode.

Cooperation with adapters

The displayed data and the operation history are updated based on the information passed by the sales adapters. The way the data is populated may differ depending on the adapter.
