A digital signature is used to verify the authenticity of documents or messages. A correct digital signature confirms that a document or message comes from an appropriate author or sender, who cannot deny the fact of the document’s creation or message’s sending.
On the POS workstation, the mechanism generating a digital signature is handled for:
A signature is created in the system at the moment of document confirmation, and its format is compliant with the French VAT law. In order to make use of this functionality, it is necessary to have:
- Private key – it is used to generate a digital signature in documents
- Public key – it is used to verify a digital signature’s authenticity
On the list of trade documents, it is possible to:
- Verify whether a generated signature is correct, using the button [Verify Signature] (hidden by default)
- Display icons informing the user whether a signature has been generated for a given document (the column is hidden by default)
In the preview of a document, the user may select the button [View Signature] (hidden by default) to display an electronic signature and copy it to the clipboard.
