POS messages

To be able to send messages to users operating points of sales, it is necessary to activate the parameter Handle POS messages in the selected POS centers under the POS Workstations tab. Once activated, messages can next be defined in the menu Subsidiaries.

Subsidiaries tab

In the Subsidiaries menu, it is possible to send dedicated messages to individual points of sale. To define messages, in the center with a defined child center POS (or in a parent center), go to the menu Subsidiaries POS Messages.

A list with already defined messages will open.

To add a new message, select the [Add] button. A new message form will open.

General tab

In General tab → Messages grouping, specify the following:

Subject – (mandatory field) title of a message sent to a point of sales

Ended – parameter deselected by default, but can be selected manually or it is selected automatically if the date in the End Date field has passed.

Priority – specifies message validity (the order in which messages are presented in POS), selectable options are:

  • Normal
  • High

Message – (mandatory field) text box to type a message/links uploaded to POS

POS Centers – POS centers under the company structure, to which a specific message is to be sent. Parameter Active must be selected at least in one POS center.

Note
The checkbox in the Upload To POS column must be selected in order for the message to be sent to the point of sale.

Notes – a message that is not propagated to POS; this field is used to complete the Message field with information relevant for the Headquarters.

In the Scheduling Details grouping, you can specify a validity of individual message by setting the start date, end date or selecting the All day event parameter.

Execution tab

In this tab, you can verify information regarding the message being uploaded to POS:

POS Code – code of the point of sale, on which the message has been read

Operator Code – code of the operator who confirmed to have read the message

First Name – first name of the operator who confirmed to have read the message

Last Name – last name of the operator who confirmed to have read the message

Read – date and time of confirmation that the message was read

After the message is synchronized into a POS workstation, it is possible to extend the message validity or to check the parameter Ended.
